Pre-departure feels

Hello all!

Cheesy as it might be, I have decided to create a blog to share my experiences in China on my Fulbright grant with my friends and family. I hope to be updating this blog roughly every couple of weeks.

To start, I will be spending four months in Beijing attending the Inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies (IUP) at Tsinghua University. I will be living with my very good friend (Hannah Corn!) and a couple of new friends! In January I will be moving on to Shanghai to begin my ten month research period.

It is all starting to set in, I am really headed off into the unknown. Packing has never been my forte, and it’s been especially hard these last couple of weeks. I cannot help but wonder if at the root of all the procrastinating I have been doing is a fear of the future, but at the end of the day I cannot wait to go back to China and start this next chapter of my life. I am keeping this post brief, but have included a picture from my final days of my Junior Semester abroad in Beijing! Here is my best friend Andrea and our host mom. Can’t wait to see her again! IMG_7721
